Waiting
Opening Reception
You’re invited to our opening reception!
When: Opening Reception is this Friday, May 1, 7 -9 PM at the gallery of the Tall Grass Arts Association. I will be displaying my two of my figurative paintings, Waiting and Morning Breeze. This reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit continues until June 6.
What: OUTLOOKS AND INSIGHTS, the Tall Grass Arts Association’s new exhibit, presents works by twenty-nine of the artists currently included in Union Street Gallery’s Studio or Guild groups. The show offers an overview of the creative efforts of these well-known regional artists. Curated by Claudia Craemer.
The paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, sculpture and mixed media works that are included in OUTLOOKS AND INSIGHTS represent some of the current directions Union Street artists are pursuing – from very literal or expressive observations of nature, people, animals, and objects, to personal interpretations of memories, dreams, states of mind, conflicts, puzzles and solutions, the inner visions that inspire symbolic or purely abstract responses to media and intuition

About Tall Grass Arts Association
Tall Grass is a non-profit arts association serving the southern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Tall Grass operates a gallery that exhibits local, regional, national and international artists. It provides classes and docent-led tours. And it also organizes an annual juried art fair featuring works by artists from across the country.
About Union Street Studio and Gallery Guild Artists
Union Street Gallery houses artists’ studios within its historic Chicago Heights building, that are rented to artists once they are juried in to the collaborative artists group. Besides producing their own creative work, Union Street Studio Artists help develop programming of all Union Street Gallery activities. Studio Artists also participate in a variety of community activities, lectures, classes, and workshops.
The Union Street Guild is composed of artists who also go through a jurying process before being accepted, but do not rent studios at the gallery, and who seek to form a network with other serious artists from the region.
Both Studio and Guild groups serve the collaborative needs of artists, who may be at many different levels of experience with their work, from relative beginner to nationally-recognized professional. The work they produce is frequently displayed and awarded honors in local, regional, and national exhibits.
