Art By Leon Sarantos: Solo Exhibit.

Art and a movie anyone?  My solo exhibit of a dozen landscapes and still life paintings is at the North Riverside Mall Theatre this June 1 to 30, at 7501 Cermak Road in North Riverside, Illinois.  The exhibit is free to people who have purchased movie tickets, and is displayed in the theatre lobby.  (No formal opening reception.)

Landscape Paintings

My art combines painting with my travels in  Mexico, France, England and the Midwest. I especially enjoyed traveling to Barra de Navidad, Mexico, which is a small fishing village on the gulf coast.  While there I painted Woman Wading in Barra de Navidad and Bourgainvillea Garden in Mexico using the sun-drenched pallette of the tropics.

My Midwestern landscapes reflect the peace and beauty that I find in natural settings, like my Winter Woods painting and Dockside, a scene from Camp Wausaukee in the North woods of Wisconsin.

I’m an architect as well as an artist, and the fine art print of my painting of Chateau at Dusk portrays a famous example of Renaissance architecture in the Loire valley.

Still Life Paintings

My still life paintings allow me to explore shapes and colors in ways that convey the joy I feel in experiencing vivid colors, such as, Sunflowers in Vase and Three Potted Geraniums.

These and other paintings are on exhibit throughout June in the theatre lobby that is accessible after movie tickets have been purchased.  Hope you come and visit.
